The Wall Eagles waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Freeman by a score of 70-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Paige Kjerstad was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Nora Dinger, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Freeman's loss came despite strong showings from Ashlin Jacobsen and Rylee Peters. Jacobsen scored 18 points, while Peters scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Peyton McCune was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Wall is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Freeman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wall will take on Philip at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Wall knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matches -- so hopefully Philip likes a good challenge. As for Freeman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ethan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
