SOLDIERS GROVE, Wis. - A big 28-point second quarter helped carry the Chieftains to a 40-8 victory over North Crawford (Soldiers Grove, Wis.) on Saturday.
Potosi rushed for four touchdowns on the ground during the quarter, including one by
Teagan Friederick.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the second quarter, PHS was up 28-0 at the half.
The Chieftains expanded their lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. Potosi scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
Chase Kruser.
With the win PHS extended its winning streak to five games. Potosi defeated Cassville 26-8 last week.
North Crawford's lone touchdown came on a run in the fourth quarter.
The Chieftains had given up an average of 13.1 points prior to the contest. North Crawford's eight points were well below their season average of 45.9 per game. North Crawford came in allowing just 13.0 points per game this season. NC had a hard time against Potosi's offense, which entered the game scoring 33.6 points per game.
A 54-24 Potosi victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after North Crawford defeated Ithaca 36-19 last week.
