The Piedmont Panthers will face off against the Parkwood Wolf Pack at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Piedmont's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Parkwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Piedmont took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Central Cabarrus by a score of 6-3.

Jailyn Thomas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Lilli Leopold looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
Thomas wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bristol Outen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Reagan Loving was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Piedmont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Cabarrus only posted a batting average of .120.
16 must be Parkwood's lucky number: they beat Monroe with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Wolf Pack didn't even let the Redhawks on the board, marking the Wolf Pack's second-straight 16-0 shutout. The Wolf Pack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by ten runs or more this season.
Brinley Parker was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenley Davis, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Parkwood is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Piedmont, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything went Piedmont's way against Parkwood when the teams last played back in March, as Piedmont made off with a 10-4 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Wolf Pack have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
