The York Prep Patriots lost against the Chesterfield Golden Rams back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. York Prep was outmatched by the Golden Rams on the road and fell 61-19. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for York Prep in their matchups with the Golden Rams: they've now lost six in a row.
York Prep's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Payton Munsey, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds. That was a full 42.1% of York Prep's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
It was another big night for Kierra Diggs, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals for Chesterfield. Diggs hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Terrahjah Robinson, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
York Prep's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Chesterfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. York Prep will challenge the Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Westminster Catawba Christian will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Chesterfield, they will head out on the road to challenge the Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cheraw is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
