The Thomaston Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 66-41 loss at the hands of Brookfield. While losing is never fun, Thomaston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Brookfield is ranked 22nd).
It was another big night for Shane Weber, who scored 38 points along with five steals for Brookfield. The matchup was Weber's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Geordan Moody, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Thomaston's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Brookfield, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thomaston will take on Terryville at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Brookfield, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against New Milford at 7:00 p.m.
