Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Liberty Chargers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 87-71 bruising from the Braves on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (57), Liberty still had to take the loss.
Tasir Best and Lamar Lee certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Best dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Lee scored 15 points along with six steals. Lee is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Genola Thermozier was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Liberty dropped their record down to 6-17 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Lake Gibson, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-13 record this season.
Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lake Gibson also has no future games currently scheduled.
