The Midlothian Heritage Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 31-30 to Centennial. Midlothian Heritage was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Centennial apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Ava Batty and Grace Sweeney certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Batty scored 11 points, while Sweeney scored 8 points. Sweeney scored a full 26.7% of Midlothian Heritage's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Midlothian Heritage's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 10-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points per game. As for Centennial, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midlothian Heritage will take on Fossil Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Centennial, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mansfield Summit at 6:30 p.m. Mansfield Summit will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 624th, while Centennial is ranked 204th).
