Southwest extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. They strolled past the Nixon Mustangs with points to spare, taking the game 41-27. The Dragons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.
Jae'Von Means was a one-man wrecking crew as he picked up 98 receiving yards and three TDs.
As for Nixon, they now have a losing record of 1-2. They gained 72 more yards on the day, but it was Southwest that made the best use of them.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Salinas, who threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. Hugo Ramos also helped with two TDs in total.
