Bethel dropped their record down to 7-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gloucester Dukes. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bruins, who until this game were averaging 3.77 runs allowed.

Conner Lamb put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bethel is 6-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-4 otherwise. Lamb was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Lamb wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Josh Flicek, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Ryder Zeman was another, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
As for Gloucester, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
On Gloucester's side, Trevor Richardson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered six earned runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler Boulay, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Landon Morris, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethel will host York at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gloucester, they will face off against Phoebus at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Phantoms have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.92 runs per game on average), something the Dukes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
