It was a good run, but the Cedar Bluff Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. Their rough 58-35 defeat to Sand Rock might stick with them for a while. Cedar Bluff lost against Sand Rock in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 73-53 score last time.
Sand Rock was led to victory by Zoey Handy and Katelyn St.Clair. Handy scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while St.Clair scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Handy hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Chloe Stephens, who scored 12 points.
Cedar Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Sand Rock, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.
Cedar Bluff will head out on the road to face off against Coosa Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coosa Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 406th, while Cedar Bluff is ranked 184th). As for Sand Rock, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Fyffe at 6:00 p.m. Fyffe is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
