Masterman were the 57-44 winner over the Franklin Towne Warriors when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Masterman suffered a rough 65-39 defeat at the hands of the Warriors on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Masterman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 712th, while the Warriors are ranked 351st).
Several Masterman players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlie Adams, who scored 13 points. Raj Chaudhury was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Franklin Towne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Corley, who scored 14 points along with five steals. Corley is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Leaks, who scored nine points along with five assists and three steals.
Masterman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Franklin Towne, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Masterman will take on the Tigers at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
