In what's become a running theme this season, the Bayard Tigers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Perkins County on the road to the tune of 60-31. The victory was just what Bayard needed coming off of a 72-29 loss in their prior matchup.
Bayard's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lexi Fiscus, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Joslyn Shay hopkins was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Several Plainsmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Libby Cole, who scored seven points along with two steals. Cole hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Madison Potts, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Bayard has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Perkins County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.
Bayard will look to defend their home court on Thursday against South Platte at 5:30 p.m. South Platte is coming into the game with four straight victories on the road, meaning Bayard will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Perkins County, they will challenge Sandhills Valley on Friday.
