Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Woodland Cougars, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were the victim of a tough 27-6 loss at the hands of the Yellowjackets on Friday. Woodland's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Trey Bennett threw for 178 yards and a touchdown.
Chase Bowman was his top target, picking up 81 receiving yards. On the ground,
Dray Long rushed for 62 yards.
Woodland's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Fairview, they pushed their record up to 14-0 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Woodland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fairview will be playing in front of their home fans against Hooker at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hooker's defense has only allowed 15.7 points per game this season, so Fairview's offense will have their work cut out for Fairview.
