There's no place like home for the Lovington Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 69-31 win over Goddard at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-10.
Julian Arroyo was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Demarcus Thompson jr, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Lovington's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Goddard, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lovington will take on Portales at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Goddard, they will be playing at home against Artesia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Artesia knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Goddard likes a good challenge.
