The Rocket City Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Life Christian Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rocket City will be strutting in after a victory while Life Christian Academy will be coming in after a loss.
Rocket City put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. Everything went their way against Bluegrass as Rocket City made off with a 48-25 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Rocket City has posted since November 7, 2023.
Rocket City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elizabeth ( Bess ) Shea, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Shea hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of MacKenzie Baker, who scored 12 points.
Life Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss yet this season two weeks ago. They took a serious blow against East Central HomeSchool, falling 60-32. While losing is never fun, Life Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while East Central HomeSchool is ranked 88th).
Rocket City's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Life Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Rocket City was able to grind out a solid win over Life Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, winning 49-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rocket City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
