Mt. Zion Prep Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nyla McFadden led the charge by scoring 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jniya Weaver, who scored 14 points.
Mt. Zion Prep Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. As for Oxon Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Mt. Zion Prep Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Paul VI at 4:00 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Paul VI is ranked 12th in Virginia, while Mt. Zion Prep Academy is ranked 11th in Maryland). As for Oxon Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Friendly at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Friendly focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday.
