Allegheny Mountain - Southern recap October 29, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Allegheny Mountain - Southern this week, Kane beat Coudersport 28-20. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Wolves.
Brockway took down Port Allegany 49-24 last week, the largest margin of any game. Alec Shaffer-Doan threw for 300 yards and 5 touchdowns and ran for 64 yards during the win.
He went 19-24 with 1 interception.
Zach Tibbens was a force in the backfield as Curwensville topped Sheffield.
Anthony Benson was the best receiver in the league this week as the Rovers topped the Gators. Benson tallied 10 receptions for 159 yards. Anthony Isabella helped Brockway's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 89 yards.
Brockway's Shaffer-Doan and Benson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Shaffer-Doan has thrown for 2,269 yards this season, while Benson has 70 catches for 1,044 yards. Tibbens from the Golden Tide leads the league in rushing with 1,849 yards.
Kane's John English needs only 79 yards against Clarion-Limestone next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 139 carries English has put up 921 yards this year.
Ridgway/Johnsonburg made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,474 from 11,092. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 8-0 victory over Smethport last week.
