The Centauri Falcons posted their closest win yet this season on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Alamosa and snuck past 38-36. Winning may never get old, but Centauri sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Centauri to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rylie McCarroll, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that McCarroll pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hannah Curtis, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Morgan Ortega and Laci Christensen certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Ortega scored 14 points, while Christensen scored 11 points along with three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Taybor Wiedeman, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Centauri's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-3. As for Alamosa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centauri will take on Ignacio at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Alamosa, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Bayfield at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Bayfield is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
