Basketball Recap: Olivia Brown Key Part of a Team Effort in Cougars Win

North Harrison proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 20) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Madison Cubs 54-52. The win was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Cubs are ranked 78th).

North Harrison's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Brown, who went 8 of 13 from beyond the arc on her way to 30 points. Brown's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Grace Goldman was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

North Harrison has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Madison, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Harrison will head out to face off against Brownstown Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brownstown Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something North Harrison surely won't give up without a fight. As for Madison, they will square off against Trinity Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
