American Canyon is 1-9 against Vintage since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Crushers at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
American Canyon will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Justin-Siena on Friday. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 22-4 margin over the Braves. With that victory, the Wolves brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

Jayden De Los Santos and Madison Del Castillo did most of the damage at the plate: De Los Santos went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Del Castillo got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Del Castillo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazlene Flores, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
American Canyon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Justin-Siena only posted an OBP of .391.
Meanwhile, Vintage never let their opponents score on Saturday. They put the hurt on Napa with a sharp 14-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Crushers in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won six in a row.
Malina Viruet and Noelle Rofkahr were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Viruet tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Rofkahr tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Viruet has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Viruet went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Rofkahr went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Abygail Sims was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Angie Rubalcava, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Vintage's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for American Canyon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9-1 record this season.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. American Canyon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. However, it's not like Vintage struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
American Canyon might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Vintage in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
