Softball Recap: Carrick Wins Going Away Against Perry Traditional Academy

Carrick won against Brashear on Wednesday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Raiders blew past the Perry Traditional Academy Commodores 17-0. That looming 17-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Raiders yet this season.

Aubrey Czapko made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Carrick got a massive performance out of Jayda Rose, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Rose is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Bailey Wyland was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double.

Carrick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .957. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .571 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Carrick's record is now 4-2. As for Perry Traditional Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
