The Rawlins County Buffaloes lost against the Hill City Ringnecks back in February of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Rawlins County took a 65-51 bruising from the Ringnecks. Rawlins County has struggled against the Ringnecks recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Rawlins County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braxton Dixson, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayan Rodriguez, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Dylan Gansel, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and two steals for Hill City. Gansel hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Carson Keith, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Rawlins County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Hill City, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4.
Rawlins County will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cheylin is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Hill City, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Plainville is ranked 160th, while the Ringnecks are ranked 161st).
