Catholic posted their closest victory since February 18th on Saturday. They skirted past the Presbyterian Christian Bobcats 8-6. Winning may never get old, but the Bears sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Bennett Smith looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Edward Henriquez was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Davis Emonet, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Catholic's record now sits at 12-3. As for Presbyterian Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Catholic and Presbyterian Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings. Catholic (ranked fourth) will meet Mandeville (ranked 39th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Catholic's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Presbyterian Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Similarly, Presbyterian Christian will challenge Tishomingo County at 3:00 p.m. on Monday up 83 places (42 vs. 125).
