The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Verdugo Hills in their matchups with Grant: they've now lost seven in a row.
Verdugo Hills' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexander Martinez, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Georges Abdulnour, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
Verdugo Hills' loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Grant, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5.
Both teams will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Grant won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Monroe at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Monroe is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
