Slinger and Cedarburg are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Owls will venture away from home to square off against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Slinger barely beat Grafton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Owls' pitchers stepped up to hand the Black Hawks an 11-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Owls in their matchups with the Black Hawks: they've now won three in a row.
Nathan Miller looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Slinger got a massive performance out of Grady Chvosta, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave Chvosta a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Leverance, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Slinger always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grafton only posted an OBP of .238.
Meanwhile, Cedarburg hadn't done well against West Bend East recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Suns. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
The win (which was Cedarburg's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Slinger, their record now sits at 3-1.
Both Slinger and Cedarburg just can't seem to miss. The Owls have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Cedarburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Slinger couldn't quite finish off Cedarburg when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Owls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
