The Cypress Centurions will square off against the Pacifica Mariners at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cypress' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Pacifica's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Cypress is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Fullerton, sneaking past 4-2.
Chach Stamper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Cypress saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Callie Kissell, who went 3-for-4 with one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pacifica). Everything went their way against Glendora on Thursday as they made off with a 15-4 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Mariners, who have now won three contests in a row.
Shay Kletke was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Kletke was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Mikella Carey was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Serena Antillon, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and one RBI.
Pacifica was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .415. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Glendora only posted a batting average of .241.
Cypress' win bumped their record up to 17-12. As for Pacifica, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10.
Cypress came up short against Pacifica in their previous meeting back in April, falling 4-1. Will the Centurions have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
