2A/3A Northwest recap October 29, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 2A/3A Northwest this week, Lynden beat Ferndale 14-6. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Lions.
Burlington-Edison was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fifth in the league. The Tigers beat Squalicum 32-25 earlier in the week.
Anacortes's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jared Douglas threw for 43 and 2 touchdowns and Levi Keltner had 20 yards receiving. On the ground Douglas chipped in 76 yards. Joe D'Amelio helped Anacortes' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 25 yards.
The Seahawks' dynamic duo of Douglas and Keltner proved tough for Bellingham to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. D'Amelio helped Anacortes' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 25 yards.
Lynden's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Lucas Petersen has thrown for 907 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Jalani Phelps has 30 catches for 464 yards.
The Golden Eagles are in third place, while Anacortes is in fourth place.
Lynden made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 513 from 593. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 14-6 victory over Ferndale last week.
