The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Heritage Academy came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Kingman Academy is ranked 242nd).
Kingman Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason Anderson out in front who scored eight points along with three blocks. That's the first time this season that Anderson posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Josh White, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds.
Heritage Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. As for Kingman Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-10 record this season.
