The Jacksonville Golden Eagles had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against Talladega by a score of 4-2. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Jacksonville was the better team in the second half.
They hit Talladega with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Matias Goggins (2),
Landon Garner, and
Elijah Stinson.
Talladega's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jacksonville will take on Etowah at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Talladega, they will play host again and welcome Faith Christian, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
