The Ferris Yellowjackets can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-33 win over Venus. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Joshua Greek was a one-man wrecking crew for Ferris as he threw for 390 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 87% of his passes. Gavin Garcia also helped out as he racked up 146 receiving yards.
Another reason for the win was Ferris' imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Venus' QB won't forget Omari Tyner anytime soon given Tyner sacked him four times.
When it comes to explaining why Venus lost, one person who can't be blamed is Damarie Bell. Despite the final result, he gained 356 total yards.
Ferris' victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Venus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Ferris will be playing in front of their home fans against Glen Rose at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games. As for Venus, they will head out on the road to face off against Hillsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
