In what's become a running theme this season, the Pikesville Panthers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Carver A&T 72-22 at home. The win was familiar territory for Pikesville who now have seven in a row.
Pikesville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bree Taylor led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven assists and three steals. Taylor hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Samira Hawkins was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Despite the defeat, Carver A&T saw an underclassman step up: Jordan Carrington scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carrington has scored all season.
Pikesville pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.07 points. As for Carver A&T, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Pikesville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Mary's at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully St. Mary's focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Carver A&T, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Catholic at 4:00 p.m.
