Basketball Recap: Allen's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Allen and Duncanville squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Allen had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes by a score of 77-74. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their 26-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Allen still got an impressive performance from Antoine Shannon, who went 7-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points and six rebounds. What's more, Shannon also posted a 70% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Deandre Thomas was another key player, shooting 46% from the field to rack up 12 points and five boards.

Duncanville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christopher Hunt Jr, who went 8-for-10 en route to 21 points. Another player making a difference was Beckham Black, who shot 45% from the field on his way to 19 points and five rebounds.

Allen's defeat dropped their record down to 34-2. As for Duncanville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-7 record this season.

Allen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Duncanville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 54-52 win against Bellaire on the 8th.
