The Southeastern Local Trojans waltzed into their game Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 45-31 victory over Fairbanks. Given Southeastern Local's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while Fairbanks is ranked 603rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fairbanks lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hannah Boehm, who scored eight points along with six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. Reese Poling was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Southeastern Local's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Fairbanks, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Southeastern Local will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Triad at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Triad focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Thursday. As for Fairbanks, they will head out on the road to face off against Greenon at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
