Watauga came tearing into Friday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 70-43 victory over the Ashe County Huskies. The Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 22 points or more this season.
Cade Keller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9-for-12 on his way to 21 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.6% field goal percentage. Josiah Railey was another key player, going 7-for-14 en route to 15 points and three steals.
Watauga pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.2 points over those games. As for Ashe County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.
