Jennings County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mollie Ernstes led the charge by scoring ten points along with five rebounds and four steals. Ernstes hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Juliann Woodard was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Columbus East scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 65-31 win over New Albany. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Columbus East as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Jennings County's win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Columbus East, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13.
Everything went Jennings County's way against Columbus East in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as Jennings County made off with a 68-46 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Columbus East's Saige Stahl, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Jennings County to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
