The Woods Cross Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Logan Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Woods Cross focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Tuesday.
Woods Cross couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell to Spanish Fork 46-42.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Hunter Jackson, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Smith, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Logan had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against Mountain View by a score of 64-51 last Tuesday.
Jordan Child was the offensive standout of the contest as he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Jalen Argyle was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
Woods Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Logan, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Woods Cross beat Logan 61-49 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woods Cross since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
