Section 5 Livingston II recap Oct. 23, 2012
Avon was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Perry. The Braves came in at 23 in the state poll after placing at number 41 last week.
Avon extended the longest winning streak in Section 5 Livingston II this week by beating the Yellowjackets, 47-18. The win marks fifth in a row for the Andy Englert's team.
Bishop Kearney's dynamic duo of Tyler Kirton and JOJO Gause proved tough for Warsaw to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kirton threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns and Gause had 76 yards receiving. Jalen Long helped Bishop Kearney's passing attack out by catching two balls for 65 yards.
TJ Crye provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Braves bested Perry. He completed six passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 146 yards. Crye's favorite target this week was John Ambroselli, who caught two passes for 37 yards.
Dylan Johnson made the biggest impact on defense this week as Le Roy beat Holley. The 5-foot-10 senior forced one fumble.
Jeremy Ohlson's team's Cory Dillon and Jake Kiehle have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Dillon has thrown for 1425 yards this season, while Kiehle, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 31 catches for 518 yards. The Knights' Peter Privitera leads the league in rushing yards with 834.
Avon led the league in scoring this week after putting up 47 points on the Yellowjackets. Crye in the win.
