The Beachside Barracudas had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They blew past Crescent City 42-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for Beachside, who have now won six contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Among those leading the charge was Edward Jordan, who threw for 319 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.8% of his passes. Beachside also got help from Marco Lanza who showed off his sure hands for 83 receiving yards.
Beachside's win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-6 Hollis Christian Academy and 3-5 Crescent City (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32.9% over those games). As for Crescent City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beachside will take on North Florida Educational Institute at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Florida Educational Institute will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 346th, while Beachside is ranked 164th). As for Crescent City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Newberry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
