Softball Recap: Bohemia Manor Starts Season with Win Against Aberdeen

Bohemia Manor took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Aberdeen as Bohemia Manor made off with a 20-6 victory. Bohemia Manor has beaten Aberdeen the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Aberdeen has come to flipping the script.

Lyla Wescoat (2027) made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over 4.1 innings pitched. Wescoat (2027) was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Bohemia Manor got a massive performance out of Gwen Ayers (2026) McDaniel, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Temperance Fitzimmons (2025), who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Aberdeen is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bohemia Manor will challenge Perryville at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Aberdeen, they will head out on the road to challenge Harford Tech at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
