On Friday, The Hamilton Broncs faced the Bigfork Vikings & Valkyries in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hamilton came out on top against Bigfork by a score of 34-21. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hamilton.
Lucas Lant was a one-man wrecking crew for Hamilton as he rushed for 230 yards and four touchdowns, and also threw for 95 yards and a touchdown. Lant is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last five games he's played. Hunter Stewart was another key contributor, picking up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Bigfork lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tristen Herd. Despite the final result, he rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown.
Hamilton's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Bigfork, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Hamilton will face off against Fergus/Winnett/Grass Range at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Montana (Fergus/Winnett/Grass Range is ranked 12th, while Hamilton is ranked ninth). Bigfork does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
