Brennan is 9-1 against Warren since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bears will take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Brennan has four straight victories, Warren has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Brennan had just enough and edged out Taft 4-3.
Q Quintanilla made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. Quintanilla was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Leatherman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Lili Salas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Brennan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Warren came up short against Harlan on Wednesday and fell 7-4.
Celi Flores was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Emersyn Luis, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Brennan's record is now 13-11. As for Warren, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-15.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brennan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Warren struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Brennan beat Warren 15-12 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
