Liberty Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past Madison Christian 11-2. The game marked Liberty Christian Academy's most dominant win of the season so far.
Luke Mollohan and Dawson Kamppi made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Mollohan tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Kamppi pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Liberty Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-4 otherwise. At the plate, Mollohan got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Kamppi got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. What's more, Kamppi posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Dyer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Fye, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Liberty Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison Christian only posted an OBP of .214.
Liberty Christian Academy pushed their record up to 4-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Madison Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Liberty Christian Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Granville Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Madison Christian will face off against rival Shekinah Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
