This season hasn't been kind to the Clarke Prep Gators, who are still winless after their tenth matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 63-26 loss at the hands of Bessemer Academy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Clarke Prep in their matchups with Bessemer Academy: they've now lost five in a row.
Leading Bessemer Academy to victory were Kane Burns and Johnathan Winston. Burns scored ten points along with three steals, while Winston scored 13 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Turner, who scored 11 points.
Clarke Prep bumped their record down to 0-10 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Bessemer Academy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-1.
Clarke Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bessemer Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fort Dale Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Fort Dale Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
