The Putnam County Panthers will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the St. Bede Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Putnam County beat Midland 42-35.
Meanwhile, St. Bede came tearing into Monday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Marquette by a score of 60-48.
St. Bede's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ali Bosnich, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Ashlyn Ehm was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds.
Putnam County's win bumped their record up to 17-7. As for St. Bede, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Putnam County came up short against St. Bede in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 51-44. Can Putnam County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
