The Waconia Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 89-80 to Chanhassen. While losing is never fun, Waconia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Chanhassen is ranked 79th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chanhassen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lauren Arnold, who scored 19 points. The game was Arnold's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Lyla Hentges was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Waconia's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-10. As for Chanhassen, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Waconia will be playing at home against St. Louis Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chanhassen, they will head out on the road to face off against Shakopee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shakopee is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
