With a playoff game on the line, the Calhoun Tigers rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 37-29. The victory was nothing new for Calhoun as they're now sitting on three straight.
Calhoun found their leader in underclassman Alivia Mason, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mason has scored at least a third of Calhoun's points. The team also got some help courtesy of JaMiya Fleeton, who scored two points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maggie Mauldin, who almost dropped a triple-double on ten points, 17 rebounds, and nine steals. Mauldin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Rylee Hill was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and five blocks.
Calhoun's victory bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Berry, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season.
Calhoun does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Berry also has no future games currently scheduled.
