If the Valeo Academy Fire were riding high off their 48-20 takedown of the Daystar Academy Falcons last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Valeo Academy was beaten by Trinity Oaks Christian Academy 59-30 on Monday. Valeo Academy was down 48-21 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Valeo Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Carnes, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Diego Aguilar, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Trinity Oaks Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Josh W, who scored 18 points along with nine steals and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points W has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean M, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Valeo Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Trinity Oaks Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valeo Academy will take on Christian Life at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Christian Life has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 383 points over their last six matchups. As for Trinity Oaks Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Quentin Road Christian at 6:30 p.m. Quentin Road Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
