Starting off the list is Villa Park's Nate Lewis, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Lewis picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss), good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Tesoro is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. Achour and Tesoro are taking a road trip to face off against Corona del Mar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Herr Came Up Big in San Juan Hills' 30-7 Victory
Timmy Herr's big game helped extend San Juan Hills's winning streak to five on Friday. Herr was unstoppable, throwing for 215 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87% of his passes.
Newport Harbor's probably not too fond of Herr given he always seems to get the better of them. When Herr last faced the Sailors back in September of 2023, he rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 76 yards and three touchdowns.

Glenn Baranoski Turns in Another Game with at Least Five Total Tackles
Newport Harbor came up short on Friday despite Glenn Baranoski delivering his best game to date. Baranoski wasn't messing around, picking up a sack and making 15 total tackles. The contest was his 13th straight with five or more total tackles dating back to last season.
On the season, Baranoski has averaged 11.5 total tackles per game and for the season has those 1 sack. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he was only averaging 7.5 total tackles per game.

Aiden Gutierrez Rounds Out Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Aiden Gutierrez of Yorba Linda. Gutierrez rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Yorba Linda's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Gutierrez and Yorba Linda will welcome Newport Harbor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
