If the Orcas Island Vikings were riding high off their 78-39 takedown of the Concrete Lions last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Orcas Island fell 74-66 to the Wolverines on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Friday Harbor got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Anderson out in front who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chris Gustafson, who scored 15 points.
Orcas Island has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Friday Harbor, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-9.
Orcas Island's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Eagles at 12:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Grace Academy is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. Friday Harbor is on the road again on Friday and plays the Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
