Destin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Traiton Mauffray out in front who scored 16 points along with four steals. Bryson Nixon was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Destin has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for West Florida, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Destin won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pine Forest at 5:00 p.m. on January 20th. Pine Forest will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. West Florida will take on Walton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Walton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Florida in Florida (Walton is ranked 139th, while West Florida is ranked 369th).
